14th March 2025
The bells were successfully lowered to the ground early in March, and then transported to Loughborough Bellfoundry.
Our thanks to all the volunteers that helped with this task, and to all the villagers who popped in to see the bells. Our apologies that they were not available for viewing for longer, but we are assured when they return they will be laid out in the church for a longer period of time.
Just because the bells are not here, doesn't mean the project has gone quiet. As part of the project, funding is allocated for a talk on bells and bellringing by a local historian - a date for this is to be arranged, possibly June/July time.
Also, there is a trip to the bellfoundry to see the bells being worked on, and visit the museum etc, which recently reopened after a lot of investment, also by the The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The Trips are for a maximum of 25 people so to gauge interest, we have an online form to see how many trips are potentially required. Please visit the form below, or scan the QR code. If you are not technically minded, but are interested, please contact Jonathan on 07792172452 and he will add you to the list. Date(s) will be circulated shortly.
