Community Coffee Mornings

Harby Community Coffee Morning started in March 2015. John and Anne Wheatley were listening to a radio report about loneliness one morning and realised that there was nowhere to go in the Village to meet others and socialise during the day. They decided to try and start a regular event where anyone could drop in and have a free coffee and a chat and meet up with friends. The Valley Christian Centre kindly offered the use of their meeting room. Gill Becken, Helena Wright and Theresa Green joined us to help organise and serve and the rest, as they say, is history!

Although coffee and biscuits are served at no charge, we do accept donations to cover the cost of the electricity and heating used.

Many new residents of the Village have found this an invaluable way of meeting people.  We usually have a group of between 20 and 30, sharing laughs, swapping books and catching up on news.

All are welcome. We meet every Friday at 10.30am at the Valley Christian Centre. Go through the gate and use the door on the left. We will have the kettle on!
